Credit Points for Academic Courses

The credit points awarded to students for participating in a course are determined solely by their home universities.

Important: The credit points (CPs) listed in the table for a given academic institution are not always valid for all departments or study tracks within that institution. It is the responsibility of students applying to a course to verify whether the course is approved as part of their academic program within their department/track. Students whose study program does not grant CPs for the course must provide a written approval, signed by the Chair of the Teaching Committee or the Head of their department, confirming credit will be granted for the course.

If no CPs are listed for a particular course in your institution, coordination must be made between your departmental office and the Institute's Teaching Department for approval. Please contact the Institute's Teaching Department on this matter.

Notes by Institution:

1. Weizmann Institute of Science
The credit points listed are approved only for Life Sciences students. Students from other disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Computer Science, or Science Education) must provide specific approval that the course will be recognized as part of their academic program. The number of CPs granted may differ from what's shown in the table.

2. Technion
Undergraduate or graduate students in the Faculty of Biology may contact Prof. Oded Béjà for approval to join a course not listed as a pre-approved elective. Students from other faculties must contact their departmental Teaching Committee Chair for approval.

3. University of Haifa
The CPs granted to Master’s and PhD students in the Marine Biology and Maritime Civilizations departments are detailed in a specific file.

4. The Open University of Israel
The CPs listed are advanced-level credits.
