Data Repositories and Available Data
All data collected by the National Monitoring Program for the Gulf of Eilat is available for public download and use.
There are two groups of data:
-
Meteorological Data: Continuously and automatically collected by the meteorological instrument system at the end of the pier of the institute. The timestamp refers to Israeli Winter Time (GMT+2).
-
Ecological and Oceanographic Data: Collected during the routine surveys of the monitoring program. This data set is diverse in terms of data types, collection methods, and collection frequency. The available data for download in this dataset is later than the field collection dates to allow for organization, preliminary processing (when relevant), and quality control.
Instructions for downloading the data can be found on the query pages. It is important to disable pop-up blockers in order to enable file downloads. The data files you download may be in asc or cmv format, both of which are comma-separated text files that can be opened with text readers or spreadsheet software (such as Microsoft Excel).
If you find the monitoring program data useful, please acknowledge the program.
If you have used this data in scientific work, please ensure that the program name is listed in the paper (National Monitoring Program of Israel in the Gulf of Eilat) and include the link to this website.
