A diver who receives diving equipment from the institute is not permitted to transfer it to another person.
The DSO is responsible for the maintenance of the institute's diving equipment. The responsibility for private equipment or equipment belonging to a researcher or a research group lies with the users. The DSO may inspect any diver’s equipment at any time and may order the cessation of use of a particular item or require it to be sent for inspection, maintenance, or repair.
Anyone borrowing equipment must inspect its condition at the time of borrowing and before use. No one is permitted to dive with equipment that has been found defective. The diver is obligated to take care of the equipment, and after the dive, the equipment must be washed and returned to the dive center. If defective equipment is found, the diver must report it to the dive center.
The DSO will ensure that all regulators, buoyancy compensators (BCDs), and cylinders owned by the institute undergo periodic inspection by a certified technician as required by the Sport Diving Authority regulations.
The maintenance of the air compressor and its peripheral systems will be conducted per the manufacturer's instructions and under the responsibility of the DSO.
