What is an inter-university academic course, and who is it intended for?

The Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat is unique in being the first and oldest academic institute for marine research in Israel and the entire Red Sea region. It is a joint institute shared by all universities in Israel.
Students from all higher education institutions in Israel can register for our courses, provided they meet the specific admission requirements for each course.
Most courses are intended for graduate students, though some are also open to third-year undergraduate students.

Students from partner universities of the institute are not required to pay tuition fees for the courses. However, indirect costs should be taken into account, such as registration fees to the institute, round-trip travel to Eilat, meals, etc.
Students who successfully complete a course will be eligible to receive academic credit toward their degree in their home department.
The courses are offered in an intensive format lasting 6 to 10 days, requiring full-time presence and accommodation at the institute in Eilat. All courses include practical components involving work at sea (from ships, boats, diving, snorkeling, etc.) for the purpose of sampling and collection, observations, surveys, and more.
