These procedures are intended to ensure that underwater activities conducted under the auspices of the Interuniversity Institute (hereinafter "the Institute") are carried out in a manner aimed at minimizing, as much as possible, the risk of accidents, illnesses, property damage, and harm to natural marine and coastal environments, while maintaining efficiency that enables the achievement of academic objectives.

The following procedures define:

  • Work and safety regulations to ensure proper and safe use of the Institute’s equipment and facilities.

  • Ongoing monitoring guidelines regarding the fitness and qualifications of divers and other personnel involved in underwater activities.

  • Rules for regular equipment maintenance to ensure its long-term functionality and availability for research support.

  • Standards for the selection and training of divers engaged in scientific underwater activities.

  • Diving procedures for activities conducted within the Institute that are not part of formal research, such as courses, guest volunteers, etc.

The procedures outlined below apply to all dives conducted by researchers, instructors, staff, students, volunteers, and guests of the Institute, operating within its framework.
