Abstract

This talk will present a comprehensive overview of our research work, featuring intriguing case studies that unveil our findings regarding the biological clocks of cnidarians within both symbiotic and non-symbiotic relationships. Delving into the intricate world of marine ecosystems, we examine the profound significance of timing in the life cycle of corals. We also investigate the captivating correlation between time and coral spawning, shedding light on the delicate balance that sustains coral reef systems. Additionally, we explore the profound impact of artificial light on coral spawning and its potential to disrupt these ecosystems. Our research highlights the critical consequences of timing mismatches induced by artificial light, which can lead to substantial biological damage in coral reef systems. These findings offer valuable insights into the vital role of understanding and preserving the biological rhythms of corals in our evolving marine environments, underscoring the vulnerability of these ecosystems and providing potential solutions to safeguard these precious underwater ecosystems for future generations.
