  • The Gulf of Aqaba as a coral climate change refuge

Corals of the Gulf of Aqaba are resistant to ocean acidification and climate change. This makes the GoA a unique place which serves a coral reef refuge in a rapidly warming and acidifying ocean. But local disturbances (e.g. pollution) may reduce the exceptional tolerance of the GoA reef and therefore should be eliminated.
